August - Bournemouth Air Festival and Visitors

In mid July our friends from Portsmouth visited for lunch. As you can see the weather was good. Little did we know that this was going to be one of the few good weather days this summer!

Sue and I had left Thursday and Friday free so we could choose which day to go to the Air Festival. As it happened the Air Festival was cancelled on the Thursday due to bad weather. Friday the weather was the best we had known it for some years – blue sky and sunshine!

The Pier Zip is the world’s first pier to shore zip wire experience located at the end of Bournemouth Pier. It was being well used on the Air Festival day

Jen and Neil came to stay for a couple of nights. Neil and I cycled on all 3 days and the ladies went out and about. RH photo Neil and me standing on a huge concrete arrow in the New Forest – a relic from WWII.

Whilst cycling Neil and I like to check on the quality of the beers in the local pubs. At The Foresters Arms, Frogham, the Cornish guest beer was excellent, but we had to share our space with these guys (gals?).
